Fine, cool and quirky on the west coast

The LA Auto Show shines with a multitude of premieres – the show date in California seems to please the manufacturers. At the fair there are lots of special features to discover apart from the mainstream. Here comes the somewhat different tour of the fair.

A sand-colored Mercedes G-Class, police vehicles from Ford and Dodge, a sleek, all-electric pick-up that targets Tesla, real classics from VW or conversions from West Coast Customs: the LA Auto Show is more colorful than many other auto shows . Although it only consists of two main halls, a small connecting hall and an often empty basement, special exhibits are hidden behind every corner.

We went on the prowl and captured the exhibits with the camera, which bring a little variety to the show of novelties. These include series vehicles from the major German car manufacturers, Korean studies of large SUVs, elaborate American conversions and a sleigh for Santa Claus with the hell cat logo. In L.A. nobody is surprised: After all, Hollywood is the heart of western film production just a few kilometers from the trade fair.
