new Toyota Prius will debut on November 16

Now it’s official: the new Toyota Prius will debut on November 16

Toyota shared another teaser of the novelty, which will premiere next week

A few days earlier, Toyota hinted at the imminent premiere of a certain hybrid, which will have a “revival”. We assumed it was the next generation Prius, and the official confirmation came out today. The Japanese automaker has released a new teaser that leaves no doubt: the debut of the fifth generation Toyota Prius is scheduled for November 16. Apparently, the design of the model will be modernized due to thin LED optics, while the Prius will retain the same form factor.

This time the new Prius was shown from the front, “illuminating” the design of the front optics. In design, it resembles the one that went to the compact crossover Crown Sport for Japan. By the way, native Japan will be the first market for the “fifth” Prius, and it can only reach the US by next summer as a 2024 model.

There is no official information about the technology of the future Prius yet. Insiders tipped off the novelty, in addition to the classic non-electric installation, a modification with a 1.6-liter turbo engine that uses compressed hydrogen instead of gasoline, which ignites at high speed. However, if this version appears, it is unlikely at the start of sales.

The current fourth-generation Prius has been on sale since 2015: it is equipped with a 1.8-liter Atkinson cycle gasoline engine and an electric motor. On the front-wheel drive Prius, the units develop up to 122 horsepower in total, and the AWD-e version is supplemented with an electric motor on the rear axle.
